About us
Our mission statement
'God is giving us a harmonious community of committed Christians, so we shall worship our Lord, care for each other in prayer and deed, work together with Neukirch to teach the word, nurture the youth and invite those in our district to Christ.'
Worship style
At Ebenezer, you’ll find the worship styles vary. We try to be as inclusive as possible and allow for different tastes. There is a blend of both traditional and modern worship, enhanced with corresponding hymns or songs. A children's talk is included in every service to involve the many children in the congregation.
What makes us unique
St John’s Ebenezer is set in farmland and vineyards, barely visible from the highway. We are an ordinary bunch of people – farmers, grape-growers, townies – and some of our families have three generations coming to worship together. Our congregation is 166 years old.
We have a close and special relationship with Pilgrim Neukirch congregation, with whom we currently share combined services and have a joint ladies fellowship and also youth fellowship. Our youth fellowship is 107 years old and is the oldest continuous youth fellowship in Australia.
Our congregation very much enjoys spending time in fellowship with each other. We have a committee that organises a variety of events each year where we simply enjoy each other's company or work to raise funds for both local and international charities.
